The Thirty Day Praise Challenge – Day 29

He calls you precious

“Since you are precious and honored in my sight,

And because I love you.”

Isaiah 43:4

“Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth,

The Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.”

Deuteronomy 14:2

When my children were growing up I wanted them to know how special they were so I would often tuck them into bed at night and tell them, “You are precious to me!”  Many women and men alike feel worthless. They may believe the demeaning messages they received from childhood, a spouse, or peers.  But, the truth is, no matter who has told you that you are worthless, God considers you precious and his treasured possession!  The Apostle Paul realized how precious we were to God and He wrote, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3) He then goes on to list some of the reasons we have to possess healthy self-worth:

  • God chose us in Him before the creation of the world. (Ephesians 1:4)
  • God made us holy and blameless (Ephesians 1:4)
  • He adopted us as His children (Ephesians 1:5)
  • He freely gives us grace (Ephesians 1:6)
  • We have redemption and forgiveness through Him (Ephesians 1:7)
  • He shares with us the mystery of His will (Ephesians 1:9)
  • He positioned us “In Christ.” (Ephesians 1:13)
  • He sealed us with the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13)
  • He made us for the praise of His glory (Ephesians 1:14)

Praise Challenge

You may or may not feel precious.  Regardless, start praising God for who He says you are, “Precious, His treasured possession, God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved.” (Isaiah 43:4, Deuteronomy 14:2, Colossians 3:12)  The more you praise Him for who He says you are the more holy confidence will grow and self doubt will fade.    Whenever, self-doubt creeps back in, immediately begin praising God for who He says you are.  As you faithfully, replace negative, self-talk with the truth found in God’s Word slowly, but steadily, you will find confidence grows.
