He blesses us with others to love
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another
If we love one another, God abides in us,
And his love is perfected in us.”
I John 4:11-12
The past week has been full of family fun and activity culminating in putting up and decorating the Christmas tree today. As I watched my sixteen month old grandson, dancing around the Christmas tree completely enamored with the lights, I couldn’t help but praise God for the joy of family. How precious that God gives us family and close friends to enjoy life with. God designed us to live in community just as the God head lives in community: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. When we love and enjoy each other God is exalted. When we praise God for our relationships, we demonstrate that we cherish and value them.
Focus your praise time, thanking God for the people in your life that are precious to you. Praise God that He calls us to live in community with others and that He invites us to love one another deeply. Praise Him that each relationship provides opportunities for you to grow more like Christ. Praise Him that He can love others through you and that He will be exalted in your family. Throughout your day, praise God often for your family, and close friends. Write one of them a note and express how blessed you feel to have them in your life.
