There is Power in His Name
“There fore God exalted him to the highest place and gave to him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)
There is great power in the name of Jesus Christ! I learned this during a particularly difficult season of my life. What I discovered was that if I praise the name of Jesus Christ feelings of darkness, despair or discouragement lifted. My circumstances did not change during that season – my attitude changed! You may be facing difficult life circumstances right at this moment. But, let me challenge you to praise the name of Jesus Christ above whatever is happening in your life right now. See if your attitude doesn’t change in the process.
Today’s challenge: Praise through the alphabet using the names of Jesus Christ. Here are a few to get you started:
Advocate – I John 2:1
Alpha and Omega – Revelation 1:8
Bread of Life – John 6:35
Counselor – Isaiah 9:6
Deliverer – Romans 11:36
Every time you feel defeated or discouraged today – Praise the name of Jesus Christ above your feelings. Please note: I’m not asking you to praise Jesus for the particular trial through which you are walking – I am asking you to praise the name of Jesus Christ above the trial you are facing. As you do, I believe you will find the Holy Spirit will fill your heart with hope!
Leave a comment and let me know how it works for you!

Hi Becky, I have an amazing story to tell you. I have a friend who is going through alot of emotional struggles right now. She is a Christian, but has suffered alot over the years. Recently we decided to meet together on a weekly bases to talk and pray. I’m a social worker and Christian, but I wasn’t approaching this as a counsellor. I was trying to give her an opportunity to talk about her life and share God’s word and pray with her. Anyway, I recently read a book by Bill Johnson called When Heaven Invades Earth. So one day I was seaching You Tube and thought I’d listen to Bill’s sermons. As I did, it just didn’t seems to interest me. So I thought of another person, Heidi Baker and went to her You Tube video. That didn’t satisfy me either, but I heard she had a book out. So I went to Amazon.com to see if I could find her book. At the bottom of the page on Amazon, it showed other books that I might be interested in. Low and behold, your book, Rewriting Your Emotional Script appreared. Immediately, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that this was what He was trying to show me right along. I went right to your website. Reviewed the Leaders guide and knew God was providing this book for my friend. I ordered 3 copies and we will be starting our journey tomorrow. God confirmed his will for us using your book two times already in the first chapter. On pg. 19, you said, “the rewriting is an ongoing, lifelong process. Recently, a minister was praying over my friend and told her not to give up because she was going through a process. Also, the night we were talking about the idea of meeting together, I told her maybe she could make up a simple timeline of events in her life. Then we could just talk about each event and pray about the incidents that happened at that time. In your book on page 27, you suggest your reader make a timeline. That is so amazing. God is awesome. A couple days ago I started getting your facebook entries about the 30 days of praise. I came into it on the 2nd day, so I did both your 1st and 2nd days yesterday. I woke up at 3:00 am going over and over the A-Z praise God for his names. It was awesome. I’m looking forward to more of the 30 days of praise.
Many Blessings, Laurie White
