The Thirty Day Praise Challenge – Day 15

His Timing is Perfect

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,

Says the Lord God.”

Revelation 1:8

“I choose the appointed time;

It is I who judge uprightly.”

Psalm 75:2

Waiting is one of the most difficult challenges we face. It tests our ability to stay calm and think clearly. “If there are more than twelve people in line at Starbucks, we leave; if we get stuck behind a slow car, we flash our lights; if we get put on hold on the telephone, we hang up; if the express checkout at the grocery store is closed, we complain; if our plane is delayed we hyperventilate.”[i] .Jesus Christ identifies Himself as the Alpha and Omega (the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet). God existed for all eternity, and as such is not bound by time. In the book of Psalms, God says that He chooses the appointed time. Though it may not always feel this way, God is on time in your life!  He chooses the perfect moment to act on your behalf.

Praise Challenge

Think through the things that you are waiting for right now.

  • A job
  • A spouse
  • Salvation of a loved one
  • A baby
  • A house
  • Direction for your future
  • Repentance on the part of your teen or adult child

Focus your praise today on Jesus Christ being the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Praise Him by faith that He chooses the appointed time to answer the longings of your heart. Praise Him that He is on time in your life. He may feel slow to you, but He is never late. Praise Him that His delay is working for your benefit. Praise Him that delay is an opportunity for you to grow. (Psalm 66:10-12) Praise Him that His delay is preparing you for future use in His kingdom.
