Take the Challenge, Change Your Life

The 30 Day Praise Challenge releases today!

You may be wondering why I included musical suggestions. Music has been a huge part of my praise journey. I was reminded of this  just this morning. I read an article by Steven Guthrie, in Christianity Today about the importance of singing. Guthrie writes, “Singing is a forgotten – but essential- spiritual discipline.” As I was thinking about this statement, I realize that is a true statement.  While I don’t always sing along with the music listening to the music helps me experience the presence of God. This is why I included so many song suggestions in The 30 Day Praise Challenge. Each day includes song suggestions – some you will like, some you may not. That’s okay. The important thing is for you to build your own worship play list.

The ancient church father, Athanasius (293-376) wrote, “Music is a sounding image of a soul that is no longer at odds with itself, nor at odds with the Holy Spirit.” I love that.  My prayer for you is that you will take the praise challenge, (it’s on the shelves in bookstores around the country today!) and that as you listen to the music, the Holy Spirit will bring your will into perfect union with His.

If you are taking the challenge, I’d love to hear from you.  Leave a comment – let me know you’re taking the challenge and I’ll pray for you personally!   I’ll also choose one comment and give away another worship CD.

I did day one yesterday … praising God for His wisdom in what ever circumstances I found myself in. I woke up early this morning and was thinking of the difference in focus this made for me.

Before I would ask God for wisdom because I needed wisdom. Now I was praising God for His wisdom, because He is amazing. Less focus on me and more focus on God.

I am looking forward to day 2.

    Thanks, Becky.

I am taking the challenge. I am on day 7. Have done pretty good. I want to do it in the morning. I struggle with Mon, Tues, Thurs. to get up in time as I leave the house at 7am. So far I love it. The enemy has tried to shoot me down a couple times.
