I confess, generally speaking I’m a chicken. Here’s what I’m learning, God isn’t content to let live in the realm of fear, He wants me to step out in faith. Whether it’s learning new technology, accepting a new ministry challenge, trying a new adventure with my husband, God invites me every day to trust Him in new ways. Can you relate? Yeah, I’m guessing you can. Today in the book of Numbers, (chapters 13-14) I read about the 12 spies Moses sent in to scout out the promised land. Ten came back cowering in fear. Two came back courageous and ready to take the land by faith. Who do you think God honored? Yep, You’re right. God was pleased with Joshua and Caleb the two faith filled spies while He was not very happy with the ten fearful spies.
The less for us as we take on the challenges of this new week, step out in faith, believing God will empower you to do all He has called you to do! I wonder what that looks like for you? Do you face a challenging conversations at work? Do you face difficult struggles with your kids? Are you facing a daunting life change? Where do you need courage this week? Meditate on the words of Joshua 1:9 and let faith rise up in your heart, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
I’d love to hear how you tackle fear in your every day life!~ Leave a comment – we can pray for each other!
