It’s Going to Be Okay!

with No Comments

Lately, I’ve heard comments like, “The world is just getting worse and worse.”

I get it! I mean, there is violence, immorality, sickness, and natural disasters. However, I have good news for you! It’s going to be okay! How do I know? The book of Revelation gives us hope. Christ wins!

Years ago, I wrote The 30 Day Praise Challenge. At the end of that book I have prayers of praise from the book of Revelation. As I’ve been reading through Revelation in my own personal time with Jesus this past month, I’m struck by how many prayers of worship are included in the book. I want to challenge you this week, my friends, not to look at the future with dread! Instead, look at the future with hope! When you feel tempted to look at the future with fear or angst, turn to the book of Revelation. Pray the prayers of praise the Apostle John wrote and make them your own. Here are a few of those prayers that I have found particularly helpful:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is, and is to come… You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being” (Revelation 4:8, 11).

It’s going to be okay because God is sovereign and holy!

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! Then I heard every creature I heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!” (Revelation 5:12-13).

It’s going to be okay because one day every creature on earth will sing the praises of the Lamb! I can’t wait!

“For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their Shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 7:17).

It’s going to be okay because God has promised to shepherd our hearts, lead us to living water, and wipe away every tear.

Remember, friend, every day we are one day closer to when Jesus will return! It’s all going to be okay, so relax and trust the sovereign Lord who is holy. He has all things under His control.

If you have never done The 30 Day Praise Challenge I encourage you to take the challenge and see what God does in your life.
