I had a wonderful time with the precious women from Paonia!

Over the weekend I had the privilege to speak in the small mountain town of Paonia, CO. The women from the Paonia Friend’s Church planned a tea and invited their friends to come celebrate Christmas with them and to hear why Jesus is so important in their lives. I gave a message called Unwrapping Hope this Christmas – we all need a little hope don’t we?

I based my message on the birth announcement found in Isaiah 9:6, “And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Most birth announcements are sent after a baby is born, but the prophet Isaiah issued this birth announcement hundreds of years prior to the birth of Christ. Jesus came – fully man, fully God – as the fulfillment of the promise given years earlier.

Several women made the choice to put their faith and trust in Christ. Several others had conversations with me after the tea and said they had never given Jesus much thought before. They agreed to explore His claims and decide for themselves.

As you are reading this blog it dawns on me, that maybe you have never given Jesus much thought. Would you be willing to explore His claims? He made some pretty bold statements about who He was and those statements have implications for you and me! Why not check Him out? You can read about those claims in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, found in the Bible). If you are willing to consider His claims I would love to hear from you.

In Finding Calm In Life’s Chaos I wrote about the “I Am” Statements Jesus made about Himself. Leave me a comment on this blog and let me know what you think of Jesus and his “I Am” statements. On Monday, December 20 I will randomly choose a name and send the winner a copy of Finding Calm In Life’s Chaos.

Many blessings to you!
