The name Jesus means “Jehovah Savior, Jehovah Victor”. How cool is that? Jesus is our victor over every enemy in our lives. Corrie ten Boon, an amazing woman held captive in a German concentration camp, who later became a minister of the gospel wrote, “Jesus was Victor, Jesus is Victor, Jesus will be Victor – so don’t wrestle, just nestle.” I love that! So often I wrestle and spaz over the best solutions to life’s problems. But Jesus is the Victor. He promises victory in my life; victory over sin, victory over negative attitudes, victory over worry and fear, and victory over death. He never panics. He only provides. Nothing, no situation you will ever face is too difficult for Him. (Jeremiah 32:17)
So, as we face this new week, where do you need victory? In your marriage, in your thought life, in the realm of worry or fear, in your finances, or in your relationships? Jesus is your Victor. The battle has already been won! Praise Him today that He has already gone before you into this new week declaring victory for you! Praise Him for His limitless power. When fearful or worrisome thoughts enter your mind, immediately praise Jesus that the victory has already been won. He stands in heaven before the Father, cheering you on!
My question for you today is, what promise from scripture, or praise song do you run to when you need to be reminded that the victory is yours. (There are no wrong answers – this is personal opinion) Leave a comment and I’ll choose one winner for a $10.00 I-Tunes gift card! I’ll announce the winner tomorrow!~

I always run to In Christ Alone, and scripture Jeremiah 29:11. They have gotten me through some tough times, and it reminds me of Christ’s power and promises.

I think every praise song I sing is a surrender of myself which reminds me that because of Jesus I can celebrate in His victory because I am His and He is mine! Two songs that I love to worship him by reminds me of his splendor and reminds me of my need for Him because in Him I do have the victory! “Who is like you” by Meredith Andrews and “Only You” by David Crowder!

I love the song Strong Enough by Matthew West. It is based on Phil 4:13. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I know I’m not strong enough and that’s when I rely on Him.

Lately I have been turning on Newsboys “God’s Not Dead” album to praise… particularly “Mighty to Save” and “More than enough” — you are faithful, you are savior, you are healer, you are holy… words my heart needs to remember lately. Singing words of truth in praise to him over and over again.
