Thank you to all who left comments yesterday. The winner of the I-Tunes gift card is Meagan Mc Cready. Congratulations, Meagan!  Please email me with your mailing address and I’ll put your I-Tunes gift card in the mail. (

My husband Steve and I are in California on vacation. We took the last two days to drive down the coast from Northern California and arrived in San Diego yesterday. We’re visiting our daughter and her new husband who is an Ensign in the US Navy.   As Steve and I were driving down the coast yesterday, enjoying the breath taking beauty, we were listening to a CD by All Sons and Daughters. In their song, Rising Sun, they use the phrase, “How majestic is your name in all the earth!” That phrase is used in Psalm 8:1. As I was reflecting on that phrase yesterday, I was praising God for His many names. Each name speaks to a different aspect of His nature.

Today, let’s have our own little praise on-line group. Leave a comment and share what name of God’s you are thankful for today. For example: Jehovah Jireh means “my provider” so perhaps that’s the name you might be thankful for today. Or, you might be thankful that He is your Abba Father.  Choose any name of God’s and tell me why you are thankful for that particular name.  Using the names of God in your personal praise time is a wonderful way to celebrate the Lord’s majestic nature. Today, I’ll choose one person who leaves a comment and that person will win All Sons and Daughters CD The Longing.  And hey – take a moment to read Psalm 8 today. You’ll be blessed!

My favorite name for God is Abba. I was abused by my father. Through the name of Abba I am learning to understand God the Father in a safe/ beautiful way.

It’s hard to pick just one. He is everything I will ever need. Jehovah Shammah – The Lord is There and Jehovah Tsidkenu – the Lord Our Righteousness are both meaningful.
