5 Worship Songs to Enhance Your Praise
Years ago, I wrote a little book called The 30 Day Praise Challenge. Many of you have bought that book and taken the challenge. Just the other night, I was at an event and randomly met a friend I hadn’t seen in years. She told me again how The 30 Day Praise Challenge had changed her life. My husband was with a pastor a couple of weeks ago, and as they ate their lunch, he also shared how The 30 Day Praise Challenge had changed his life. To be crystal clear, these life transformations have nothing to do with a book! Life change happens when we get serious about praising God!
As I’ve been thinking about all this, I felt strongly once again to challenge you to make praise an intentional part of every day. To help you with that challenge, I have decided to introduce you to five new worship songs that I’ve been listening to in my praise time each morning. I hope these songs will bless you and that, more than that, as you praise God you will begin to experience His presence more fully!

5 Worship Songs to Enhance Your Praise
Holy Hands (Paul and Hannah McClure and Bethel Music). I love this song because it prompts me to praise God for so many of His amazing attributes! It is, in my opinion, one of the best new worship songs out there because it focuses our hearts so completely on God.
Wait for You (Sidney Bakken and Red Rocks Worship). I love this song because as we worship to it, we are crying out, “Lord, make my heart an upper room.” We want the Holy Spirit to fill us, but often we rush through our times with Jesus like we’re in a race to get to the next thing. We don’t pause long enough to be present to what the Holy Spirit wants to do in our hearts. Isaiah promises that those who wait on the Lord will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit. The question this song stirs up is: Are we waiting, or are we rushing?
Hallelujah in the Hard Things (Bryan and Katie Torwalt). I love this upbeat song because it is a reminder that we don’t just worship God when our family is thriving, our health is flourishing, and our finances are prospering. Praise is the intentional declaration that God is good above our life circumstances. If you dare to praise God above what is happening in your life, His presence will come close, and your faith will be strengthened.
I Want Jesus (John Wilds, Bethel Music). This song isn’t as new; it’s just been released by John Wilds. I love it because it reminds me of my deepest desire: Jesus. Plain and simple.
So Much More (Kendra Benay, Red Rocks Worship). This song reminds me of Ephesians 3:20-21. I often pray that passage over my children and grandkids. As I worship with this song, I am reminded that God is able to do exceedingly more than all I can ask or imagine. He is hearing every prayer of my heart and working in their lives as I pray.
Friend, I hope you will take the challenge to begin every day in worship. Start incorporating intentional praise into every day. Give it at least a month, and then see if it doesn’t change your life. You simply can’t praise God and not have it change you!
This week on the Connected Mom Podcast we’re having a conversation with Jaime Erikson. We’re talking about moving past feeling overwhelmed in motherhood. Be sure to tune in and recommend this to your friends or loved ones who might be feeling overwhelmed.
