Welcome, Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by to visit. Maybe you’ve read one of my books, heard me on the radio, attended a conference, or maybe you’re just browsing and looking for hope. Grab a cup of coffee, and let’s pretend we are sitting at a coffee shop together. Please allow me to share with you a little about myself, my family, and why I’m so passionate about awakening hope in the hearts of women.

I am married to Steve Harling. We got married at age 21 and went right into pastoral ministry. We still enjoy the fun memories of our first church. Together we had four kids and now have four grandkids. Looking back on our married life together, we’ve had the opportunity to minister all over the United States and in many different countries around the world. My husband has a huge global heart. I often say when I married Steve, he gave me the world.

One of the reasons I am so passionate about helping women find hope is because I know what it’s like to feel hopeless. I am a survivor of both breast cancer and childhood sexual abuse, so I understand what it’s like to feel as though God is far away. Part of my journey of healing included doctors’ visits and counseling appointments, but a significant part of my healing journey was learning to praise God above the chaos of my life. Praising God was the secret to awakening hope in my heart. It wasn’t that I praised God for the horror of cancer or for the evil of sexual abuse. I simply learned the power of praising God for who He is above the chaos in my life. As I praised Him, a strange thing happened, God’s presence came close, and Jesus began to awaken hope in my heart.

Friend, Jesus is the Hope Giver. He said, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:35). He is able to bring hope out of the darkest horror. I know. I’ve personally experienced Him as my hope giver. If your life circumstances feel dark right now, ask Jesus to come close. Praise God by faith that He loves you and cares about you.
